Chelsea have agreed a fee with Arsenal for England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, it is understood.
The former Southampton midfielder, who joined the Gunners in 2011, is believed to have been pushing for a move away from the Emirates Stadium and recently rejected a contract offer from the North London side.
A fee of £35million is thought to have been agreed between the two London Premier League rivals and it is another damning blow to Arsenal’s fortunes after a torrid weekend.
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s departure now looks imminent after he had emerged as a key component at wing-back in the Gunners 3-4-3 formation.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte had made no secret of his desire to add more players to his squad and last season’s champions desperately need to increase their homegrown quota.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is currently on England duty ahead of the international break and parts of a medical are expected to take place at St George’s Park.
